Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on EHS professional to lead Environmental, Health & Safety efforts within a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role is responsible for owning safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting overall facility operations, including maintenance coordination and workplace safety initiatives. This position will serve as the primary safety resource onsite, partnering with leadership and associates to promote a strong safety culture, reduce risk, and drive continuous improvement across the facility.

 

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

  • Own, develop, and manage all EHS programs across the facility
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and all federal, state, and local regulations
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Lead internal and external audits, including preparation and follow-up
  • Investigate incidents, injuries, and near-misses; identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate safety records, reporting, and documentation

 

Training & Culture

  • Develop and lead safety training programs for employees and leadership
  • Conduct new hire safety orientations and ongoing training
  • Coach supervisors and employees on safe work practices
  • Promote a proactive, accountable safety culture across the facility

 

Operations & Facility Support

  • Partner with operations and maintenance to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
  • Support preventative maintenance planning and coordination
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of equipment when needed
  • Oversee general facility upkeep, including lighting, HVAC coordination, and overall safety conditions
  • Ensure proper operation and inspection of safety systems, including fire protection equipment

 

Metrics & Continuous Improvement

  • Track and analyze safety metrics (TRIR, DART, etc.) to drive performance improvements
  • Identify trends and implement proactive safety initiatives
  • Recommend and implement improvements to safety programs and operational processes
  • Support initiatives that reduce incidents and improve overall workplace safety

 

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environments
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance requirements
  • Experience leading or owning safety programs (not just supporting)
  • Proven ability to conduct incident investigations and implement corrective actions
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • CSP, ASP, or similar certification preferred
  • First Aid/CPR certification
  • Experience in larger or more complex operations environments

 

Work Environment

  • Combination of office and hands-on floor work
  • Regular interaction with machinery, equipment, and manufacturing conditions
  • May require standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods
