The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading and managing the maintenance function within a manufacturing facility to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all production equipment and facilities. This role oversees preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities while leading a team of maintenance technicians and skilled trades. The Maintenance Manager works closely with Operations, Engineering, and Safety teams to minimize downtime, improve equipment reliability, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead, supervise, and develop the maintenance team, including technicians and skilled trades personnel
Plan, schedule, and manage preventive and corrective maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime
Ensure safe work practices and compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, and company safety standards
Diagnose equipment performance issues and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and external contractor services
Develop and implement maintenance procedures, standard work, and reliability improvement plans
Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to support equipment upgrades, installations, and capital projects
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as downtime, MTBF, and maintenance costs
Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports using a CMMS or maintenance management system
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost
High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred
Minimum of 3 years of maintenance management or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Experience leading maintenance teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Familiarity with CMMS systems and preventive maintenance programs
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Experience in automotive, aerospace, or industrial manufacturing
Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) experience
Welding, fabrication, or electrical certification
