Job Summary

The Millwright is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role supports safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations by ensuring equipment operates at optimal performance levels. The Millwright works closely with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to minimize downtime and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, including conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime

  • Diagnose mechanical failures and determine root causes to implement effective repairs

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical drawings

  • Align, level, and balance machinery and rotating equipment

  • Perform welding, fabrication, and rigging tasks as required

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders in the maintenance system

  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements

  • Support equipment upgrades, installations, and plant improvement projects

  • Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred

  • Journeyman Millwright certification or equivalent experience strongly preferred

  • 3+ years of millwright or industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical drive systems

  • Welding experience (MIG, TIG, stick) and fabrication skills preferred

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks

  • Ability to stand, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces

  • Willingness to work overtime, off-shifts, weekends, or on-call as needed
